How to use the Invoice Generator

Deposits and partial payments

Record a payment only after you receive it. Each payment has a date, label and amount. The invoice shows the full total, recorded payments and remaining balance separately. An overpayment appears as a credit balance.

How the amounts are calculated

Each line amount is rounded to the currency’s smallest unit before the subtotal is added. A fixed or percentage discount reduces the subtotal before tax. Shipping is included in the tax base only when you select that option. The PDF and CSV use the same calculation as the live invoice.

Your details stay on your device

Invoice data, saved clients and logos are processed in this browser. No account is required. Browser storage can be cleared, so keep an editable backup of invoices you need.

Frequently asked questions

Can I record a deposit?
Yes. Add a payment with a label, date and amount. It reduces the remaining balance without changing the invoice total.
Can I add my logo?
Yes. Choose a PNG or JPEG up to 2 MB. It is included in saved invoices, editable backups, PDFs and printing.
How do discounts and tax work?
Discounts apply before tax. Choose a fixed amount or percentage. Tax is calculated from the discounted subtotal, plus shipping only when selected. You enter the rates and amounts yourself.
Can I reuse an invoice for another project?
Save a copy first, then choose New invoice. Business details and currency stay in place, the number increments, and the new client, lines and payments start empty.
Does changing currency convert amounts?
No. The selected currency changes formatting and the allowed decimal places. JPY uses whole yen; other supported currencies use two decimal places.
