PDF compression with a quality check

The structural rewrite keeps existing page text, images and vector graphics rather than replacing every page with a photograph. It may offer little reduction for an already optimised document. It is not a guarantee that every document-level feature or signature will survive a rewrite.

Image compression for scanned documents

Image mode renders each page at your selected resolution and saves it as a JPEG inside a new PDF. The result looks like a page image: text is no longer selectable or searchable, and links, forms, bookmarks, attachments and accessibility tags are not transferred. You can preview a sample if you want to check the appearance first.

Your files stay in your browser

These tools process file contents on your device. Files are not uploaded, and closing or reloading the page clears the working files. Download the result before leaving.

Frequently asked questions

Is the compression lossless?
Structural rewrite does not rasterise or resample page content. Image mode changes page content into JPEG pictures and is lossy. Keep your original and inspect any features important to you.
What if the result is larger?
The comparison shows both exact sizes. You can keep the original, download the processed file anyway, or change settings and compare again.
Are my files uploaded?
No. Compression and previews run locally in your browser.
