Runs entirely in your browser. Nothing you enter is uploaded.

How to use the HEIC to JPG Converter

  1. Select your .heic files (you can choose many at once).
  2. Choose JPG or PNG.
  3. Download the converted photos.

What is HEIC?

HEIC (High Efficiency Image Container) is the default photo format on iPhones since iOS 11. It stores photos at about half the size of JPG with similar quality, but many Windows PCs, websites and older apps cannot open it.

Stop your iPhone saving HEIC

Go to Settings โ†’ Camera โ†’ Formats and choose Most Compatible. New photos will be saved as JPG. Alternatively, under Settings โ†’ Photos โ†’ Transfer to Mac or PC, choose Automatic so photos are converted when you copy them to a computer.

Private conversion

Your photos are decoded by a library running in your browser. Nothing is uploaded, which matters for personal photos that may contain location data.

Make a photo contact sheet

After your photos finish converting, download a labeled JPG contact sheet for a quick visual overview. The sheet includes up to 100 ready photos and is built in your browser.

Frequently asked questions

Does it keep the photo quality?
Yes. At quality 92 the JPG is visually identical to the original.
Can it convert Live Photos?
It converts the still image from a HEIC file. The video part of a Live Photo is a separate .mov file.
Why is the first conversion slower?
The HEIC decoder (about 1 MB) is downloaded the first time, then cached.
